CardsIQ Shipping Policy
This Shipping Policy explains how CardsIQ manages shipments for Marketplace Sales and Value-Guaranteed Transactions. Following these rules helps ensure safe delivery, verification, claims eligibility, and payout processing.
1. Marketplace vs. Value-Guaranteed Shipments
Marketplace Sales: When you sell directly to CardsIQ through the marketplace, you must generate a prepaid shipping label through the platform. This links tracking, verification, insurance eligibility, and payment to your order. The offer amount locks immediately upon acceptance and remains fixed for that submission, subject to successful shipment, receipt, verification, and compliance with CardsIQ policies. Marketplace Sales include downside protection beginning at acceptance. If market prices decline after acceptance, your payout will not be reduced because of that market decline. Marketplace Sales do not include upside adjustments if market prices rise after acceptance.
Not every submitted card will qualify for a Marketplace Sale offer. Offer eligibility is determined by CardsIQ’s proprietary algorithm based on verified sales data, liquidity, marketplace demand, verification confidence, and ecosystem fit.
Value-Guaranteed Transactions (VGTD): Cards from verified partner repacks that are covered by the CardsIQ Value Guarantee are considered secured in-network and do not require user shipping. Verification and pricing are handled within the partner network and by CardsIQ. If a card covered by VGTD leaves the partner network, the Value Guarantee no longer applies. Any later sale of that card to CardsIQ is treated as a Marketplace Sale and follows Marketplace shipping rules.
Shipping Instructions (Marketplace Sales):
- Ship promptly after accepting an offer and ensure the first carrier scan occurs within 3 days of label creation, unless a different shipment window is displayed during checkout.
- Marketplace Sales may be cancelled after acceptance only until the card has been shipped. Once the card is shipped, tendered to the carrier, or scanned, the order is binding pending verification.
- Shipping label fees are non-refundable, including if the order is cancelled before shipment, the shipment window is missed, or the order is later rejected due to verification failure or user error.
- Ship only to the address generated during label creation.
See the Shipping Policy and Terms of Use for definitions and timelines.
2. CardsIQ Label Requirement
All Marketplace shipments must use a CardsIQ-generated label unless CardsIQ gives written approval to use a different carrier label. Value-Guaranteed Transactions do not require user shipping; if a card is no longer secured in the partner network and you wish to sell it to CardsIQ, it must be processed as a Marketplace Sale using a CardsIQ label.
Using a non-CardsIQ label for Marketplace shipments without approval places all shipping risk on the user. CardsIQ is not responsible for lost, damaged, delayed, misrouted, improperly tracked, or uninsured shipments when a non-CardsIQ label is used, and claims through CardsIQ’s insurance partner will not be facilitated.
For Marketplace Sales, the package must receive its first carrier scan within 3 days of label creation, unless a different shipment window is displayed during checkout. If this does not occur, the order may be automatically cancelled, closed, restricted, or re-evaluated.
CardsIQ-generated shipping labels are non-refundable once created. Label fees are not refunded if you cancel before shipping, fail to ship, miss the required shipment window, use the wrong label, or if the order is later rejected because the submitted card fails verification.
3. Pre-Shipment Photos and Claim Eligibility
Before you ship a Marketplace order, you must take clear photos of each slab front and back and email them to claims@cardsiq.io. Your email must include your CardsIQ order ID and sufficiently clear images to identify each card. Photos must be emailed before the first carrier scan.
If pre-shipment photos are not emailed to claims@cardsiq.io prior to the first carrier scan, you forfeit eligibility for shipping-related claims, and CardsIQ is not liable for shipping mishaps, including broken slabs, lost or misrouted packages, or other damage occurring in transit.
These photos are used only for shipping-related claims and do not replace CardsIQ’s intake and verification process. All Marketplace Sales remain subject to verification before payout release.
4. Packaging Standards
Only graded cards from supported grading companies are accepted for Marketplace Sales. Supported categories may include sports cards, Pokémon, TCG, and other trading card categories added by CardsIQ over time. Raw or ungraded cards will not be processed.
Use a rigid padded box. Separate slabs with bubble wrap or foam to prevent abrasion, cracking, or fractures.
Improper packing can delay verification, affect payout eligibility, cause claim denial, or result in rejection.
Insurance and Tracking:
- CardsIQ labels include tracking and may include insurance as stated at purchase.
- If you use a non-CardsIQ label without approval, you are fully responsible for tracking, insurance, loss, damage, misrouting, and delivery issues.
5. Verification, Order Changes, and Payouts
All orders are subject to intake and verification. Acceptance locks the Marketplace Sale offer amount and downside protection begins at acceptance, but payout is not released until CardsIQ receives and verifies the card.
CardsIQ may modify, reject, cancel, or reprice orders that fail verification in whole or in part.
Examples of differences that trigger recalculation or rejection:
- Same card, different certification number.
- Different card, same grade.
- Grade, grading company, certification number, or slab data does not match the submitted details.
- Counterfeit, altered, damaged, tampered, or cracked slab.
- Card condition, slab condition, or submitted details are materially different from the Marketplace Sale submission.
- The card does not meet CardsIQ marketplace eligibility, liquidity, verification, or ecosystem standards.
See the Payout Policy and Terms of Use for timing, adjustments, and partial payouts.
6. Partial Acceptance and Correct Items
Whatever is verified as correct will be paid according to the verified offer and the applicable rules for the transaction type. Items that do not match may be recalculated, adjusted, cancelled, or rejected.
If an item is rejected, return shipping must be purchased directly through the seller’s CardsIQ account before the card will be shipped back. CardsIQ is not required to advance, cover, or reimburse return shipping costs.
CardsIQ is not liable for rejected, mismatched, ineligible, damaged, or unverifiable cards if the seller refuses or fails to purchase return shipping.
7. Insurance Claims and Risk Allocation
If you follow all steps exactly as outlined, including using a CardsIQ label for Marketplace Sales and emailing clear pre-shipment photos to claims@cardsiq.io before the first carrier scan, CardsIQ will connect you with our insurance partner for loss or damage claims in transit. The insurance company handles all determinations and payouts.
CardsIQ is not responsible for claim timelines, determinations, denials, or delays and does not guarantee reimbursement. If you ship on a non-CardsIQ label without written approval, fail to email required pre-shipment photos before the first carrier scan, improperly package the shipment, ship incorrect contents, miss the required shipment window, or fail to follow CardsIQ shipping instructions, CardsIQ will not facilitate insurance claims and is not liable for loss, damage, broken slabs, misrouting, carrier delays, or other shipping-related issues.
8. Status Updates and Delivery Windows
Your portal shows statuses such as In Transit, Received, Verifying, Action Required, Return Pending, and Completed. Delivery timelines depend on carrier performance and intake volumes. CardsIQ is not responsible for carrier delays, but we will process verification and payouts as promptly as possible once cards are received.
Marketplace Sale payouts are generally released after successful receipt, verification, and settlement approval. Payout timing may vary based on verification volume, account standing, compliance review, processor availability, and payout method availability.
9. Return Shipping
If an item is rejected or adjusted after verification, you may be required to purchase return shipping from your order portal. Return shipments include standard tracking and insurance when applicable. If misrepresentation, user error, mismatch, damage, or verification failure is found, return shipping is the responsibility of the seller.
Cards will not be shipped back until the seller purchases the required return label through the CardsIQ platform. CardsIQ is not liable for any card that a seller refuses or fails to purchase a return shipping label for.
If the seller does not purchase return shipping within 60 days after CardsIQ makes return shipping available or otherwise requests return shipping action, the seller may lose return eligibility and CardsIQ is not required to continue storing or returning the card.
10. Prohibited and Non-Processable Items
- Raw or ungraded cards.
- Cards reported as stolen or with tampered certification.
- Counterfeit, altered, damaged, cracked, or unverifiable slabs.
- Cards submitted with inaccurate certification numbers, grading companies, grades, or card details.
- Items that breach third-party IP or violate applicable law.
- Cards that do not meet CardsIQ marketplace eligibility, liquidity, verification confidence, or ecosystem standards.
